Application of traditional sandblasting abrasives in the new energy industry

As we all know, traditional sandblasting abrasives have a wide range of applications across various industries. Today, we will focus on their applications in the New Energy Industry.

Traditional sandblasting abrasives are primarily used in the new energy industry for material surface pretreatment. By jetting abrasives at high speed, they remove impurities, adjust the roughness, and provide a qualified substrate for subsequent processing. These applications cover several core areas.

1. In the photovoltaic industry, abrasives such as quartz sand and garnet are commonly used for sandblasting and etching during silicon wafer processing. This creates a textured surface, increasing the light absorption area and improving battery conversion efficiency. Sandblasting aluminum alloy module frames removes scale and oil stains, strengthens the bond with sealants, and enhances module sealing.

2. In the lithium battery industry, sandblasting removes oxide layers and increases surface roughness on copper and aluminum foil electrodes, improving adhesion between the electrode material and the current collector and reducing detachment during charging and discharging. Sandblasting stainless steel or aluminum alloy battery casings removes surface defects, providing a good adhesion base for insulating and anti-corrosion coatings.

3. In wind turbine equipment manufacturing, abrasives such as corundum are used for sandblasting wind turbine blade surfaces to remove release agents and burrs, strengthen the bond between the blade and the coating, and enhance wind erosion resistance. Sandblasting steel towers and flanges to remove rust (to Sa2.5 or higher Sa3) lays the foundation for anti-corrosion coatings, extending equipment life.

4. In hydrogen energy equipment, sandblasting metal fuel cell plates removes oxide layers and creates a uniform roughness, promoting uniform coating adhesion and reducing contact resistance. Sandblasting the metal casing of high-pressure hydrogen storage tanks removes impurities, ensures the bond strength of the anti-corrosion coating, and improves safety.
