Grinding rods are formed by pressure and have a well-aligned grain structure that can better withstand warping and wear. It is a common form of steel, usually a long strip of steel with a cross-section of round, square, hexagonal, etc.

The forging process causes metallurgical recrystallization and grain refinement due to thermal cycles and deformation processes. The grain flow of the steel is changed to conform to the shape of the bar. This increases the impact force and absolute strength.

 

Commercially, grinding rods are used to build structures such as buildings, bridges, reinforced concrete roads, towers, etc. They are very strong, with high yield strength of structural steel, and will not be over-crushed in grinding media.

It can also be used for: mineral extraction processing; grinding coke and brittle non-metals; grinding alumina raw materials; grinding gravel to produce sand.

 

Steel Cylpebs refers to shaping steel by hammer forging, stamping, die forging and other process methods to finally form steel parts of the desired shape and size. Compared with casting, its mechanical properties are excellent, especially in plasticity, toughness and impact resistance. Steel forging can also make the internal structure of metal tend to be uniform, thereby improving the quality and performance of steel.

Steel Cylpebs is widely used in cement, mining, chemical and other industries. Its hardness is as high as ±50HRC, with excellent wear resistance, uniform hardness gradient distribution, low wear rate, good toughness, which prolongs the service life of the ball mill, improves the productivity of the ball mill, and reduces the cost of users.

 

Both grinding rods and steel cylpebs use steel as the main raw material, with similar basic chemical composition and common properties such as strength and toughness of steel.

Both can be used in machinery manufacturing, construction, automobiles and other fields as basic materials for structural parts or components.

 

Differences:

Steel Cylpebs: formed by forging process, with denser internal structure, finer grains and better mechanical properties.

Grinding rods: mostly produced by rolling or casting process, with relatively simple process, regular cross-sectional shape and high surface accuracy.

 

Steel cylpebs eliminates internal defects due to plastic deformation during forging, has better performance uniformity, and is suitable for scenes with heavy loads or impact loads.

The uniformity of the organization and mechanical properties of grinding rods are usually lower than those of steel forgings, and they are more suitable for general structural parts with low strength requirements.

 

The shape of steel cylpebs can be customized according to needs, and most of them are complex and special-shaped parts that require subsequent processing and forming.

Grinding rods are mainly regular bars, which can be directly used for cutting or as raw materials, and the application scenarios are more inclined to standardized components.
