Garnet sand and garnet 80mesh

Garnet, due to its unique shape, serves as a dual purpose media. Mined in seaside, it gets processed into several different mesh sizes. We stock 30/60, 80, 120, 150 and 200 mesh. The coarser (lower number) mesh sizes work good for traditional surface prep and rust removal projects. Garnet is classified as a hard abrasive, and some people refer to it as the “invisible media”, as a very little amount goes a very long way. The 80 mesh is a very popular formula due to its consistency, which allows you to truly dial in your media flow to just that one grain size so that no garnet goes to waste (in other words, you do not need to adjust your machine to accommodate the largest particle size in a range– when you do have to do this, it’s inevitable that some material will get wasted). Garnet is also highly reclaimable – it can be reused many times before losing its effectiveness.
