According to the latest data on the WHO website, the number of confirmed cases in the world reached 22,302,538 as of 16:47 CET (22:47 GMT) on Sunday, up 584,433 from the previous day.  The number of deaths rose by 8,091 to 4,602,882.  According to Worldometer real-time statistics, as of 6:30 PM Beijing time on September 11, there were 224,583,488 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 468,842 deaths worldwide.  Globally, 613,794 new confirmed cases and 9,581 new deaths were reported in a single day.  
 
The United States, India, Britain, Turkey and Malaysia are the five countries with the highest number of new cases, according to the data.  The United States, Russia, Mexico, Brazil and Iran are the five countries with the highest number of new deaths.
