CARBON STEEL GRAIN introduction and applications

The carbon steel shot is a carbon (High) in the form of spheres or angular particles of different sizes, which have their application in the cleaning of all kinds of metals (casting) mainly having the distinction of leaving completely clean metal parts white, of course using the proper cleaning equipment.

Having clean material helps us to have a better quality control since we can observe the defects of the pieces at a glance and / or through verification processes with precise measuring instruments and thus be able to reject or approve. Likewise, since the parts are completely clean and if they are machined, it will be easier to do so saving time and tools since the casting sand quickly finishes the cutting tools.

It is also used in the relief of cold stress (Shot Peening) for parts that are going to be subjected to fatigue stress (compressive tension), such as springs and springs. These pieces when giving them this treatment increase their useful life by 1000%.

The angular particles have their application, also in the removal of contaminants and / or impurities on the surface of the substrate, but also have the advantage that it leaves anchor (mordant) on the surface of the substrate, this anchor can be regulated, measured and modified , according to the required specifications. This anchoring is necessary for the application of subsequent coatings (paints, epoxies, etc.) increasing the useful life of the coating since it is better adhered to the surface.
